Greetings. I am delighted to meet you all through this newsletter and share many works we have done so far.
Tuition centres
Science exposure visit
On February 11, a group of eager students from our education center in Kurinji Nagar set off on an exciting journey to the Science Center (Stem Park) in Thoothukudi. The day was packed with discovery as they explored captivating exhibits across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. With Mrs. Mahalakshmi, the knowledgeable guide, leading the way, the students were enthralled by the wonders before them.
They marveled at the artificial satellites on display, and ancient trees, now transformed into rocks through time. The highlight of the visit was a deep dive into the marvels of India's Mangalyaan spacecraft. As they watched a gripping theater presentation, the children gained a newfound appreciation for the incredible efforts of Indian scientists behind this monumental achievement.
The adventure continued with a mesmerizing 3D journey to the depths of the ocean and through the vibrant forests. The immersive experience left a lasting impression on them, with many commenting that the day was truly unforgettable. They agreed that they had learned more about science in a single visit than they ever could from books alone. A total of 21 students participated in this unforgettable excursion.
Mobile library
The Mobile Library is currently running the Reading Challenge - 5 session, which is set to wrap up early March. Our students have shown incredible enthusiasm, eagerly picking up books to be a part of this exciting challenge. Their commitment to reading continues to inspire us, and it’s clear that they are embracing every opportunity to expand their knowledge and imagination.
Positive Parenting Program
On February 4th, a thought-provoking Positive Parenting program was held at the Azhagumuthu Tuition Center, followed by another session on February 7th at the Kurinji Nagar Tuition Center. The focus of the event was to address the growing concern of children becoming addicted to various substances, with a particular emphasis on the rising trend of cannabis use among schoolchildren.
The session highlighted the crucial role parents play in protecting their children from falling into these harmful habits. Parents were engaged and participated eagerly, reflecting on the strategies they could implement to better safeguard their children’s well-being.
One of the most heartening outcomes of the program was the feedback from parents, who shared that their children had significantly reduced the time spent on mobile phones. Instead, they had embraced the habit of reading books provided through the mobile library, fostering both intellectual growth and healthier habits. The parents expressed their gratitude for the initiative, recognizing the positive impact it had on their children's development.
Tuition Teachers meet
On February 27th, we hosted our monthly meeting for the tuition teachers at our office. During the meeting, Ms. Jeya Gell delivered uplifting words of encouragement, motivating the teachers to continue their hard work and dedication. Ms. Hilda John took the opportunity to inquire about the ongoing events at each tuition center, ensuring that everyone was on the same page. Reflecting on the director's feedback from the previous meeting, Mrs. Esther and Mrs. Valarmathi proudly shared that they had introduced weekly exams at their centers. These exams are designed to assess the children’s skills and help track their progress. The initiative has received positive feedback from parents, who are actively encouraging their children to perform well. It was a productive and motivating meeting that highlighted the ongoing efforts to support both teachers and students in their educational journey.
Vocational Training and Employment

Agriculture workshop
On February 6, a farmers' seminar took place in the village of Kulasekaranallur, drawing 30 farmers from five villages under the Kulasekaranallur Panchayat. The event was an informative and engaging session, with Mr. Balakrishnan, the Field Officer from the Ottapidaram Government Agriculture Office, as the guest speaker. He took the opportunity to explain various government schemes designed to support farmers, including those offering subsidies to help ease financial burdens. The seminar was a valuable platform for farmers to gain insights into available resources and learn how they could benefit from these government initiatives to enhance their agricultural practices.
Tailoring Training
The second batch of tailoring training in Kulasekaranallur is currently underway, with 24 women actively participating. The enthusiasm and interest displayed by the participants have been truly inspiring, as they are fully engaged in learning new skills and techniques
Embracing Elders
On February 12th, 35 elders gathered for the monthly camp at Zion Campus in Tuticorin. The event was graced by Mrs. Eben Jason, who delivered an inspiring and uplifting message that resonated with all in attendance. As part of the camp, the elders received groceries and nutrition powder, and their weight was monitored and recorded to ensure their well-being. The camp concluded with a delicious and satisfying meal, leaving everyone with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude.
