EDUCATE. EMPOWER. EMBRACE.
Embrace
Ensuring that those lacking support receive aid is crucial to prevent the disadvantaged from being left behind. Our embrace programs focus on providing medical care to HIV patients and conducting check-ups for the elderly, aiming to uplift individuals who are unable to manage on their own.

Elderly Outreach — Support for Senior Citizens
Our elderly outreach program ensures seniors aren’t left to fend for themselves. We offer them various services such as providing grocery packs, medical assistance and nutrition powder, and we also provide a safe space where older adults can interact with other community members. This social interaction involves members supporting one another, sharing stories, and offering advice, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. Social interaction is especially crucial for senior citizens, who may often be isolated without family support. Medical check-ups are also vital for people of this age, so we have a doctor who visits the camp regularly to check up on the elderly. Our seasoned professional, Dr Mumoorthy, has been with DAIA since the beginning and enjoys using his medical knowledge to improve the lives of others.

HIV Medical Camps — Care for those who need it most
Every month, we organise a medical day camp for people living with HIV/AIDS in Tuticorin and Kovilpatti. Those living with HIV find it hard to access supplementary medicines, nutrition powder and peer support, that’s where our camps come in. We focus on uplifting those who attend, giving them professional support from our volunteer doctors and the additional medical supplies they need to live free of symptoms. This event also acts as a social event, bringing those with similar struggles together to share their experiences and advice.
