Jeya Gell
Greetings.
We are delighted to meet you all through this newsletter and share many works we have done so far.
Vocational Training and Employment
(VOTE Project)
Tailoring centre
The first batch of our tailoring training program is progressing successfully in Osanoothu Village, empowering women with practical skills that can lead to sustainable livelihoods. This month, participants also received specialised Aari embroidery training, enabling them to expand their craftsmanship, enhance the value of their products, and access higher income-generating opportunities.
A total of 25 women benefited from this training, taking another important step toward financial independence and self-confidence.
Sewing a brighter future
Mrs. Malathi from Kulasekaranallur once struggled to support her family, as her husband's seasonal income as a Nadaswaram player was not enough to meet their year-round needs. During the off-season, the family often depended on loans to cover daily expenses.
When DAIA introduced tailoring and Aari embroidery training in her village, Malathi seized the opportunity to learn new skills. After completing the training, she received a free sewing machine through a government scheme for small-scale entrepreneurs. Today, she earns up to ₹7,000 per month through tailoring, enabling her family to meet their needs without falling into debt. Filled with gratitude, Malathi shared how DAIA's support has transformed her life, bringing financial stability, dignity, and renewed hope for her family's future.
Your partnership is helping women like Malathi build sustainable livelihoods and create lasting change for their families.
Palam project
Self help Group meeting
This month, our team visited several women's self-help groups supported through the DAIA initiative to witness the progress of their livelihood activities. It was encouraging to see women like Sermakani and Sornam sharing how their small businesses have grown, helping them strengthen their families' financial stability and confidence.
A particularly joyful moment came when Sornam shared that the goat she received through DAIA had given birth to a healthy kid, an encouraging sign of sustainable growth and lasting impact.
Tuition Centre
A new academic year begins!
Following the school holidays, children at all six of our tuition centers have joyfully begun a new academic year. Equipped with new classes, books, and school bags, they are stepping into this new chapter with renewed enthusiasm, confidence, and a desire to learn.
To mark the occasion, welcome events were held at each center, inspiring students to embrace the year ahead with determination, hard work, and perseverance.
Confidence to shine
Jadwi Hannah, a 10-year-old student from our DAIA tuition center in Azhagumuthu Nagar, is a wonderful example of how consistent support can transform a child's future. She has been attending the center since Grade 1. Although she performed well in most subjects, English was initially a challenge, causing concern for her family.
When DAIA introduced online English classes in partnership with Tata, Jadwi embraced the opportunity with dedication and determination. Today, as a Grade 6 student, she has made remarkable progress, not only earning excellent marks in English but also confidently participating in English speech competitions. Her journey reflects the lasting impact of quality educational support and encouragement.

Congratulations to all the students on their wonderful achievement!
Tuition teachers meeting
On June 30th, tuition teachers from all DAIA learning centers gathered at the Kirubai Nagar office for their monthly review meeting. The session included a time of encouragement led by Mrs. Helen, followed by a discussion with our Director, Mrs. Hilda John, on the progress of the new academic year, including student attendance, new enrollments, and children who have yet to return to the centers.
The meeting also focused on the growing challenges facing school-aged children, including the increasing risk of substance abuse. Teachers were encouraged to continue nurturing every child with patience, care, and vigilance while providing a safe and supportive learning environment. The meeting concluded with the submission of monthly reports, reaffirming our shared commitment to helping every child learn, grow, and thrive.
Share a SMILE, change a life
As part of our DAIA initiative, we are preparing for our annual SMILEProgram, a special effort dedicated to bringing joy to children with physical and intellectual disabilities through the gift of toys. More than a gift, each toy is a reminder that these children are valued, loved, and remembered.
This year, we once again invite you to be part of this meaningful mission. Your generosity can help create precious moments of happiness, laughter, and hope for children who deserve to experience the simple joy of childhood. Together, we can brighten many young lives and fill their hearts with smiles.
Embracing Elders
On June 10th, our senior citizens gathered for a meaningful time of fellowship and encouragement. Mrs. Eben Jason shared a message focusing on the new academic year, praying that God would bless children and grandchildren with wisdom, discernment, and strong character. He also encouraged the seniors to inspire the younger generation by living as positive role models through their faith and daily lives.
Following the gathering, monthly grocery provisions and a nutritious lunch were distributed to all participants. Your faithful support continues to bring hope, care, and dignity to our senior citizens while strengthening the bonds between generations.

Thank you to all our supporters
We were able to do the work just because you stood behind us. Our heartfelt thanks for your consistent support in reaching out to make our vulnerable communities better.
We look forward to working with you. Thank you once again.
Reflection: Kindness
"Always help someone. You might be the only one who does."
Let us be kind and lighten the burden of those who are suffering.
