About Us

Turning Interest Into Action

DAIA was established in 2002 by Mr. Gell Joseph, a humble lab technician from Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. As an avid lover of herbal medicine and natural remedies, he felt a call to share his knowledge and hope with HIV/AIDS patients living in low socio-economic areas of Tuticorin. DAIA emerged out of his pursuit to empower and support this community of people, and began as simple medical camps with his wife, Mrs. Jeya Gell. Eventually, DAIA grew, and following several successful missions, our little organisation was able to extend its work to other important aspects of health, including health literacy and nutrition, as well as empowerment and education to those who need it most.

Mr. Joseph's vision was to help struggling communities break the cycle of poverty, get back on their feet, and initiate change for themselves. We warmly invite you to be part of our mission, as we work to make lasting changes in the lives of the aged, the marginalised, and those living with HIV/AIDS.
